Our Winery

Established in 2004, Sweet Valley Wines is Washington states 500th Winery. The Winery is situated in beautiful Walla Walla Valley and creates limited quantity boutique wines from the vineyards of Birch Creek, Forgotten Hills, Golden Ridge, Les Collines, McKinley Springs, Pepper Bridge, Seven Hills, Spofford Station and Va Piano. With the help of mother nature’s Walla Walla appellation wine maker, Josh McDaniels, combines old world techniques with new world technology to create the wineries signature red blend, Double Barrel Red, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, and Viognier. Our rich, bold and balanced red wines showcase vineyard origins and the Walla Walla Valley appellation. While our fruit forward, crisp and bright white wine showcases the vineyard origins of the Columbia Valley appellation. Affordability combined with a unique tasting experience that friends and family can enjoy together is the driving force for the winery. Thus goes our slogan, “Good Wine, Good Times, Sweet Memories…”

Our winery started simply with a father and uncle helping a young wine artesian showcase his talent. With the help of local wine friends and two barrels of wine they mixed together a red blend that makes your pallet come alive. Due to growth beyond expectations the two original families, the McDaniels and DeFords, grew to four with the addition of the Schilling and Fischer families. The winery will be undergoing a major overhaul with Walla Walla’s Crystal Clear Ice building located in downtown Walla Walla at 1007 W. Rose Street being transforming into the winery’s production site, storage area and tasting room.

Our first release in 2007 was 105 cases of our signature Double Barrel Red which completely sold out. We increased production to approximately 400 cases in 2008 which included 3 new varieties Merlot, Syrah, and Viognier. Moving forward, production is expected to increase to approximately 2,000 cases in 2009 which will include the new release of our Cabernet Sauvignon. Our growth to a level of 5,000 to 6,000 cases is on the horizon with all our established varieties and some interesting new ones to tantalize your pallet.
